Till we meet at the Rainbow Bridge

We lost our Chloe this week.  It's been a long time coming.  She was 15 and had been diagnosed with diabetes about 3 years ago, receiving insulin twice a day like a trooper.  Poor thing, her body was just too tired.  She died in my arms.  I lost another cat to chronic kidney failure 4 years ago and vowed not to put another one of my furry babies through what he went through - multiple car rides to the vet, test, ultrasounds, even IV fluidss which were horrible.  We, yes two adults, had to hold him down to hydrate him.  In the end we only had him for another month.  It was agonizing.  When Chloe was diagnosed I was ok with the insulin.  My thought was that's all - we get to keep her!  She was a trooper.  We trained to get in her chair every morning get her shot and then the whole crew (Chloe, her 4 year brother Frankie and baby bro Leonard) all got a treat.

She started to obivously decline a couple of weeks ago and we considered putting her down but she wasn't in any type of visible distress or pain so I opted to put her in God's hands.  I pray I wasn't just being too selfish and that she really didn't suffer.  I miss her terribly....
